Speaker of the Legislative Chamber meets with Belarusian delegation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 27 August 2024, Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Nuriddin Ismoilov met with a delegation led by Natalya Kochanova, Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus.

During the dialogue, it was highlighted that, thanks to the strong political will of the leaders of both countries, relations between Uzbekistan and Belarus have reached a new, higher quality level. There has been an increase in mutual trade and the implementation of joint projects in various sectors of the economy.

The Belarusian delegation was provided with detailed information on the key tasks outlined in the "Uzbekistan – 2030" Strategy, the ongoing reforms within its framework, efforts to implement the provisions of the new edition of the Constitution, and the directions of the Legislative Chamber’s activities.

The meeting, which took place in an atmosphere of mutual trust, discussed the expansion of inter-parliamentary cooperation between Uzbekistan and Belarus, the exchange of legislative experience, and the enhancement of dialogue on cultural and humanitarian exchanges.

Natalya Kochanova noted the significant results achieved in Uzbekistan thanks to large-scale reforms in all areas and highly praised the work on supporting and increasing the activity of women in the economic, political, and social life of the country.

It was also emphasized that the further expansion of inter-parliamentary cooperation, which is an important factor in developing bilateral relations, and bringing it to a new quality level, is mutually beneficial for both parties.

The meeting, held in a sincere and friendly atmosphere, identified promising directions for the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation.
