The delegation will also include deputy chairperson of the Federation Council Ilyas Umahanov and the first deputy chairperson of the committee of the Federation Council on international affairs Vladimir Jabarov.
The press service of the Federation Council, the Russian delegation will hold negotiations at the Senate and Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan. The delegation will also meet the leadership of Uzbekistan.
The parliamentarians of two nations will discuss ways of boosting dialogue between legislative bodies of Uzbekistan and Russia, as well as perspectives of the Russian-Uzbek cooperation as a whole.
On the eve of the visit, Matvienko said that relations of Russia and Uzbekistan are developing intensively. She said that the countries actively cooperate in politics, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
She said that Uzbekistan enters to top five of economic partners of Russia in the CIS. She said that trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Russia reached about US$4 billion. Currently, about 70 Russian regions closely cooperate with their partners in Uzbekistan, Matvienko said.
