Some regions of Uzbekistan to accelerate comprehensive sevelopment

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A Presidential resolution has been adopted in Uzbekistan regarding the implementation of practical measures for regions (districts and cities) selected for accelerated comprehensive development. The decree targets the development of 16 districts and cities across the country.

According to the document, the main objectives of the accelerated comprehensive regional development are to ensure sustainable growth in sectors such as industrial production, services, and agriculture, with forecasted growth rates of 7-8%, 15-17%, and 4-5%, respectively.

The decree also sets the goal of reducing unemployment by 4-5% and poverty levels by 5-6%. As an example, districts such as Kungirod, Asakinsky, Gallyaral, Denau, and the city of Margilan will be transformed into areas free of unemployment and poverty.

As part of the decree, projects for updated master plans will be developed for the centers of the districts included in the Accelerated Comprehensive Development Program, taking into account the suggestions of local residents and entrepreneurs. These projects are to be prepared by July 1, 2025, in an expedited manner, with zoning for renovation, reconstruction, and conservation.

Additionally, within one month, master plans will be developed to create comfortable living, leisure, and business conditions in cities and districts such as Asakinsky, Gijduvan, Gallyaral, Khatyrchin, Chartak, Syrdarya, Denau, Kuvinsky, Shavat, and Yangiyul.

Within two months, master plans focused on tourism development will be prepared for the Khaytyrchin, Kuvin, and Chartak districts.

Furthermore, a Project Office will be established as part of the program, functioning on a new approach centered on the interests of the population and entrepreneurs. This office will operate as a legal experiment until 1 January 2026.
