The seminar was organized within the visit of delegation of Korean Small Business Corporation. It was organized by Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.
The event was organized for further expanding investment cooperation between business circles of Uzbekistan and South Korea.
During seminar, the Uzbek businesses were familiarized with activity of SBC, current state and perspectives of developing small and medium business in Korea, as well as advantages of doing business in cooperation with Korean companies.
In 2009, bilateral trade turnover grew by 8.2% year-on-year. In nine months of 2010, trade turnover reached US$1.122 billion, of which US$102.5 million were exports of Uzbekistan and US$1.2 billion were imports.
As of 1 July 2010, number of enterprises with Korean capital reached 363, of which 60 are firms with 100% Korean investments.
In December 2010, SBC and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan signed an agreement on launching official office of SBC at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry as coordinating and consulting body from 1 January 2011.
