Finance 28/11/2011 Small businesses in Uzbekistan get loans for 3.572 trln soums in 10m

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Small businesses and private entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan received loans for over 3.572 trillion soums from all sources in ten months of 2011, which grew by 1.5 times year-on-year, the Central bank of Uzbekistan said.

In particular, the volume of microloans, issued in last months, rose 1.5 times and made up about 655 billion soums.

The banks allocated 21.8 billion soums (+3.5 times) to finance business projects of graduates of professional colleges and 51.4 billion to home and farm entities to buy cattle (+1.4 times).

On contracts, signed within АgroMiniTechExpo exhibition, some 26.9 billion soums (+3.3) were issued as loans and leasing services.

In the reporting period, producers of food products got loans for 615.2 billion soums (+1.3 times), due to resources of specialized funds of preferential loans of commercial banks – 21.8 billion soums (+2.3 times), to develop craftsmanship and family business – 49.4 billion soums (+2.3 times), development of services – 317.9 billion soums (+1.4 times).

At the same time, small businesses received US$111.3 million to finance their projects within the attracted preferential loans of financial institutes, which grew 1.3 times year-on-year.

Till the end of 2011, the commercial banks are planning to issue additional loans for about 210 billion soums to small businesses.
