Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Ljubljana hosted negotiations between Matloub Kuranov, Deputy Director of Uzbekistan’s Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers, and Greta Metka Barbo Škerbinc, Director General of Slovenia’s Employment Service, along with Department Director Anka Rode.

The talks were facilitated by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Budapest and focused on cooperation in labor migration.

During the meeting, the Slovenian side expressed a strong interest in recruiting doctors and nurses from Uzbekistan to work in the country's healthcare sector.

Following the discussions, the parties signed a cooperation protocol between Uzbekistan’s Migration Agency and Slovenia’s Employment Service, formalizing the agreements at the legal level.

Moving forward, both sides plan to develop a joint action plan outlining specific steps to attract Uzbek specialists. As part of this collaboration, Slovenia intends to organize a series of informational events in Uzbekistan, covering employment opportunities, qualification requirements, and licensing conditions for medical professionals.
