Sixty-six companies receive status of MUIC residents
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Number of the residents of Innovation Center for Support of Development and Introduction of Information Technologies “Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center” reached 147 legal entities.

On 24 November 2017, the Coordination Council of Innovation Center for Support of Development and Introduction of Information Technologies “Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center” granted the status of the residents to 66 more companies.

Before this decision of the Council, 81 legal entities were registered as the residents of the Innovation Center for Support of Development and Introduction of Information Technologies “Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center”.

Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center was created in line with the presidential decree “On measures for cardinal improvement of conditions for development of information technologies industry in the Republic” from 30 June 2017 and on principle of extraterritoriality and operate within all territory of Uzbekistan with accommodation of its residents throughout the country.

The Center was established to create favorable conditions for formation and active development of high-tech industries based on the use of ICT, further deepening the integration of science, education and production in this industry.

President of Uzbekistan granted a number of privileges and preferences to the participants of the Innovation Center for support of development and implementation of information technologies “Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center”. In particular, the residents of the center are exempted from paying taxes and compulsory payments till 1 January 2028.

Employees of the residents of the Innovation Center will pay personal income tax at the rate of 7.5% and insurance premiums of citizens to off-budget Pension Fund at the rate of 4.5%.
