Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of India published a book, which tells about the performance of the favorite song of Mahatma Gandhi "Vaishnava Jan To" by singers from 125 countries in the Hindi language. Among them is the soloist of the Uzbek music group “Havas” Kahramon Gulomjonov.
The book also contains an electronic application with performances by singers.
Famous artists and creative groups all over the world sang Gandhi’s favorite song “Vaishnava Jan To” accompanied by national musical instruments. This project was dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Indian national leader and statesman Mahatma Ganda.
Inspired by the Uzbek band’s excellent performance of the song “Vaishnava Jan To”, the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared the band’s video on his Twitter and on the official YouTube channel, noting that the winner of the golden disc of India is the lead singer of the Havas band K. Gulomjonov sang Gandhi’s favorite song.
In addition, Indian Foreign Minister S. Svaraj sent a letter of appreciation to the Uzbek creative team “Havas” for active participation in the project, as well as for strengthening cooperation in the cultural sphere between Uzbekistan and India.
