Ambassador of Singapore to Uzbekistan handed over credentials addressed to the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged opinion on priority directions of bilateral cooperation within the agreements, achieved during the state visit President Islam Karimov to Singapore in January 2007 and political consultations between Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Singapore in December 2010.
The sides noted that the relations among business circles of two states are expanding, which is the result of regular business forums, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
It was noted that Uzbekistan attracts interest of the Singaporean companies, possessing advanced technologies and investment-financial opportunities, due to significant resources and skilled employees.
Currently, leading Singaporean enterprises are expressing interest in implementation of projects in Navoi free industrial and economic zone.
Meeting of new Singaporean Ambassador with officials and business circles of Uzbekistan should help to find new directions of cooperation.
During the meeting at the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, the sides discussed other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
