Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Sherabad Cement Plant has challenged the debt imposed by the Surkhandarya branch of the gas supply company "Hududgaz," according to the Competition Development and Consumer Protection Committee.
According to the committee, "Hududgaz" applied increased tariffs to the plant in July and August 2022. Until August of that year, the plant was part of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (AGMK).
However, even after the plant separated from AGMK in August, the tariffs continued to be calculated at the elevated rate, resulting in a debt of approximately 1 billion soums.
The committee initiated proceedings against the gas supply company, deemed the imposed debt unjustified, and ordered "Hududgaz" to recalculate the tariffs in favor of the cement plant.
