Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The regular meeting of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Heads of States Council has commenced in Moscow with the participation of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The heads of states will exchange views on cooperation within the framework of the CIS and make a decision on the chairmanship of the Commonwealth in 2025.

The summit will also discuss and adopt an Address to the peoples of the CIS countries and the global community in connection with the 80th anniversary of the Soviet people's Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945. Additionally, the activities of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS member states aimed at strengthening integrative cooperation, along with other agenda items, will be reviewed.

The heads of states will sign resolutions designating cultural capitals of the Commonwealth for the next three years and will approve amendments to several documents concerning cooperation in legal matters as well as security.

It is expected that the meeting will also result in the adoption of several statements by the CIS Heads of State.
