Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 30 June, Youth Day, a solemn ceremony was held at the International Congress Center in Tashkent to present state awards to young citizens of Uzbekistan.

The event marked the culmination of the initiatives set out in the Presidential decree and resolution of 28 June, aimed at comprehensive support for the rising generation and at strengthening its role in the social and public life of the country.

A group of talented young men and women was conferred the “Builder of the Future” medal and the “Valiant Son” state prize in recognition of their outstanding achievements, active civic engagement, and contributions to various fields, from science and technology to culture and sports.

Opening the ceremony, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated the youth on their holiday, emphasizing that it is at their age that the foundations of the country’s future are laid. He announced a series of important initiatives regarding enhanced educational programs for schoolchildren, support for startups, preparation of young people for admission to leading foreign universities, and the creation of additional employment opportunities.

The head of state conducted an open and sincere dialogue with the assembled youth, listened to their ideas and proposals, discussed the issues important to young people in the regions, and outlined the priorities for further work.

President Mirziyoyev personally presented the awards to the distinguished young men and women, noting: “What you accomplish in youth is the guarantee of your future success. A friend made in youth becomes a partner and a support for life. Never forget: a nation and a state whose children are educated, healthy, courageous, and determined will surely enjoy a bright future. I wish all the youth of Uzbekistan to embody these qualities.”

The laureates, in turn, expressed their deep gratitude for the attention and opportunities provided by the state and affirmed their determination to strive for new achievements in order to justify the trust placed in them.

Representatives of ministries and agencies, public and youth organizations, members of the creative intelligentsia, and the families of the awardees attended the ceremony.
