Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev conducted a phone call with athletes Asila Mirzayeva and Kudratillo Marufkhodjaev, who secured the first gold medals for Uzbekistan at the Paralympic Games in Paris.
Asila Mirzayeva set a new Paralympic record in the long jump with a leap of 5.24 meters, breaking a record that had stood for 28 years. Kudratillo Marufkhodjaev won gold in the shot put competition.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the athletes, expressed gratitude to their coaches and parents, and extended his greetings and congratulations to other Uzbek Paralympic medalists, wishing success to all participants.
The athletes thanked the President for his congratulations and support, promising to strive for new victories in the future.
