Shavkat Mirziyoyev: An Entrepreneur is the Backbone of the Economy and the Pillar of the State

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Yangihayot Industrial Technopark in Tashkent.

Yangihayot District, home to over 184,000 residents, is undergoing rapid development. In recent years, numerous new residential buildings have been constructed, providing housing for many families. Concrete measures are being taken to create jobs for residents of these new neighborhoods, one of which is the establishment of the Yangihayot Technopark, initiated under a presidential decree dated February 4, 2021.

Spread across 110 hectares, the technopark has already launched operations at eight enterprises with a total investment of US$101 million, creating 520 jobs. The President inspected the operations of several enterprises within the technopark.

One such enterprise is Almerro Group LLC, which produces confectionery under the “Krember” brand. The project, occupying 3 hectares, has received US$22 million in investments. It utilizes modern equipment from Italy, Spain, and Türkiye. Annually, the company plans to produce 80 types of products worth 320 billion soums, 15–20% of which will be exported to China and CIS countries.

Another notable enterprise, Vera Modern Electrical, has implemented a US$21 million project to manufacture 600 types of cable and wire products. The company’s export potential amounts to US$4 million, with 35–40% of its products targeting the domestic market and a localization level of 70%.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of supporting business initiatives:
“Conditions created for entrepreneurs in recent years are yielding tangible results. Uzbek businesspeople are producing high-quality, competitive products. We will continue to expand these opportunities every year. An entrepreneur is the backbone of the economy and the pillar of the state,” he said.

The President also reviewed a project to construct ready-made buildings for small businesses. Mimar Group has built a two-story complex, which is offered to enterprises and artisans on an installment basis. The buildings are equipped with production and exhibition spaces. Currently, four enterprises with a total investment of US$3 million operate in these facilities, producing doors and windows, textiles, construction profiles, and solar panels.

Plans for the further development of the technopark were presented, including the implementation of 46 projects with a total value of US$386 million. These projects cover sectors such as construction materials, electrical engineering, textiles, food production, logistics, and services. To train skilled personnel, dual education programs will be introduced.

By 2025, 37 projects worth US$235 million are planned for launch, followed by a US$50 million project by 2026. This will create 10,000 jobs and generate US$35 million in export revenue.

Over the past 10 months, more than 3,000 people have been employed in Yangihayot District, and 6,000 residents have registered as self-employed.
