Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Law enforcement authorities in Uzbekistan have detained several individuals with a large shipment of powerful psychotropic drugs smuggled from Kyrgyzstan.
Officers from the State Security Service (SSS) apprehended residents of the Yangikurgan District in Namangan Province while they were attempting to distribute 16,800 packages of the drug "Regapen," which had been illegally imported from Kyrgyzstan with a total value of $36,000.
In Tashkent, a resident of the Shaykhantahur District was detained after 15 packages of "Regapen" were discovered in his vehicle. During a search of his acquaintance’s apartment, law enforcement found nearly 3,000 packages of the drug.
Additionally, during the inspection of a "Nexia" vehicle arriving from Fergana, 1,400 packages of "Regapen" and 30 packages of "Tropikamid" were found.
In Namangan Province, over 6,000 packages of "Regapen" were discovered in a Lacetti vehicle, with an additional 2,800 packages found in the detained individual’s home.
All the seized drugs were smuggled from Kyrgyzstan. Criminal cases have been initiated, and an investigation is underway.
