Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A grand opening of an exhibition organized within the framework of the International Cultural Festival “Navruz in Seoul” took place recently at the prestigious KF Gallery Gallery in the South Korean capital.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of public, political and academic circles of the Republics of Korea, as well as heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited to the country.

The festival is annually organized by the Secretariat of the Forum for Cooperation of the Republic of Korea Central Asia together with the diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, as well as with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of this country and the Seoul City Hall.

The exhibition presents photographs, books, objects of art, folk art and other exhibits, demonstrating the rich centuries-old culture and traditions of the peoples of Uzbekistan and Central Asia. Videos about the tourism potential of our country, its history and rich heritage were also shown here.

The great interest of the participants was caused by the animated interactive exposition prepared by the organizers and the Embassy of Uzbekistan on the process of preparing the traditional festive dish sumalak.

During the festival, which began on 20 March and will last another 5 weeks, it is planned to hold cultural events in each of the countries of Central Asia. In particular, from 25 to 29 March, the Week of Uzbekistan will be held, during which folklore and musical groups will hold open-air venues in the center of Seoul, special lectures with the invitation of leading Korean scholars and cultural figures, and prepare national dishes.

As well as the opening ceremony of the exhibition, the events will be widely reported in the local media.
