Senators of Uzbekistan and France held talks
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 10 May, a delegation of France’s Senate led by Andre Dule, the chairman of the parliamentary friendship group France – Central Asia, met with the chairman of Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Ilgizar Sobrov in Tashkent.

During the meeting it was noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and France were gradually developing in many directions including the parliamentary sphere, UzA reported.

The sides discussed the issues concerning the relationship between higher legislative bodies of the two countries. It was noted that strengthening the legal base of bilateral relations play an important role for inter-parliamentary cooperation.

Founded in 1992, France – Central Asia parliamentary group serves to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation with the parliaments of the region.

“Cooperation between our countries is consistently developing in the field of economy, culture and parliamentarism,” said André Dule. “I was thoroughly acquainted with President Islam Karimov’s concept of further deepening of democratic reforms and formation of civil society in Uzbekistan.”

“I am pleased with the colossal achievements of Uzbekistan for the last 20 in many areas.”

The French delegation participated in the international seminar titled “Development of constitutional law and parliamentary system in a democratic society: the experience of Uzbekistan and France,” organized by the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan.

“We support the further strengthening of inter-parliamentary and trade-economic cooperation between our countries,” Dule said.
