Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The 58th plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis has reviewed the Law "On Creative Economy."

The law provides for the support and development of the creative economy and regulates relations in this field, identifying 15 areas as part of the creative economy.

The law clearly outlines the mechanism for implementing state policy in the area of the creative economy, as well as the powers of the Cabinet of Ministers, ministries and departments, and local government bodies in this sphere.

It is stipulated that a Republican Council for the Development of the Creative Economy will be established, which will serve as a consultative body operating on a voluntary basis.

The law defines the mechanisms for creating and supporting the necessary infrastructure for the creative economy. In particular, it specifies that this infrastructure includes creative industry parks, creative industry clusters, art residences, centers for the creative industry, innovative equipment and technologies, as well as digital programs and platforms. The tasks of the creative industry park are also outlined.

Additionally, the law establishes funds to support the creative economy aimed at financing expenses related to the creation, production, and promotion of projects in the creative industry on domestic and foreign markets, as well as the main directions for the use of these funds.

In order to assess the contribution of creative industries to the economy of the republic, the law establishes the formation of statistical indicators and the accounting of national and universal values in the development of the creative economy, as well as the preservation of cultural heritage.

According to the senators, the adoption of this law will improve the position of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Global Innovation Index, promote the development of innovative ideas and projects in the creative industry, and create conditions for the realization of creative products and services aimed at enhancing international and domestic tourism through the promotion of culture and heritage.

The senators approved the law, noting its relevance and necessity.
