Senator participates in event at U.S. Congress marking Uzbekistan Day

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – The Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the United States, together with the "Caucus on Uzbekistan," held Uzbekistan Day in the U.S. Congress.

As part of the Uzbekistan delegation, the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Sodyk Safayev, also participated in the event.

Sodyk Safayev informed the participants about extensive reforms and democratic transformations being carried out under the leadership of the President of Uzbekistan in the political, economic, and social spheres of the country.

It was emphasized that the reforms in Uzbekistan have become irreversible, and future plans only aim to accelerate progress in these areas.

The government of Uzbekistan highlighted its priority task of continuously improving the investment environment, as the country is keen on attracting foreign investments into the national economy.

In turn, congressmen, senators, and representatives of the U.S. Administration who spoke at the event welcomed the high-level organization of Uzbekistan Day, which has become a tradition in the U.S. Congress.

It was also noted that Uzbekistan Day plays an important role in the development of Uzbek-American inter-parliamentary cooperation.

This initiative provides an excellent opportunity for American politicians and business representatives to gain a closer understanding of modern Uzbekistan, its extensive reforms, and transformations underway in the country.

Participants also highlighted the significant increase in business interactions between Uzbekistan and the U.S. in recent years, the dynamic growth of American investments flowing into the republic’s economy, and the rise in joint and wholly American-owned enterprises and productions.

High praise was given to Uzbekistan’s efforts in supporting persons with disabilities, creating an accessible environment for them, and fully integrating them into societal processes and economic development of the country.
