Senate to hold plenary session in August

The Kengash (Council) of the Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan held a session on 31 July 2013. The Council adopted decision on convocation of the twelfth plenary session of the Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan in Tashkent on 22-23 August 2013.

The Senate will consider several laws directed at reforming and liberalizing all spheres of political and social-economic life of Uzbekistan.

Senators will consider law “On pledge registrar”, “On combating the spread of the disease caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection”, “On conformity assessment”, “On introduction of amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, which envisages further improving business environment, strengthen protection of life and health of citizens, etc.

At the same time, the Senate will consider report of the chairperson of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan for 2012, issues on ensuring ecologic safety and protection of environment, as well as strengthening health of population.

The Senate will also discuss other issues of its jurisdiction.
