Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Kengash of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting on 26 April, 2019. The meeting was presided by the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Nigmatilla Yuldoshev.
The Kengash adopted a resolution on convening the nineteenth plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on 3 May 2019 in the city of Tashkent.
The agenda of the plenary session includes a number of laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, aimed at achieving the goals set for the modern development of the country, further strengthening the foundations of civil society and ensuring the effectiveness of democratic reforms.
Among them are the laws "On public-private partnership", "On the privatization of non-agricultural land", "On renewable energy sources", "On pastures".
Senators will also consider the Laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan on amendments and additions to the Criminal Code, Administrative Responsibility Code, Economic Procedural Code and other legislative acts.
In addition, the plenary meeting will hear the report of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the implementation of the State Program "Year of Active Investments and Social Development" in the first quarter of 2019, reports on the activities of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, prosecutors, the Accounts Chamber in 2018.
The plenary meeting will also hear the report of the khokim of Tashkent region on the development of the territories and activities of local Kengashes of people’s deputies.
Members of the Senate will discuss issues related to sending parliamentary inquiries to members of the Government on the issues of ensuring the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population in carrying out entrepreneurial activities, on issues related to the discharge of sewage into water bodies, as well as the results of parliamentary requests previously sent.
At the plenary meeting, other issues related to the powers of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan will be discussed.
