Senate Hosts Meeting with Hungarian Parliament Delegation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Senate Chairperson of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva held a meeting with a delegation from the Hungarian Parliament, led by Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary István Jakab.

During the meeting, it was noted that in recent years, relations between Uzbekistan and Hungary have reached a new level, developing on the basis of strategic partnership and mutual trust.

The sides discussed opportunities to further expand trade and economic cooperation, as well as deepen collaboration in agriculture, automotive manufacturing, construction, science, education, innovation, and tourism.

Special attention was given to developing the transport and logistics system, implementing joint agricultural initiatives, increasing investment cooperation, and boosting mutual trade turnover. Prospects for tourism cooperation, including the potential launch of direct flights between the two countries, were also considered.

The parties emphasized the importance of supporting partnerships between research institutions and exchanging experience among professors, educators, and young scientists. Strengthening inter-parliamentary ties was highlighted as a priority, with regular dialogue and delegation exchanges fostering mutual trust and stable bilateral relations.

The delegations expressed interest in exchanging legislative experience, participating in joint projects, and enhancing the content of inter-parliamentary dialogue.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to activate inter-parliamentary friendship groups to further strengthen cooperation between the parliaments of Uzbekistan and Hungary.
