During the meeting with the chairperson of the Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Ilgizar Sobirov, it was noted that relations between Uzbekistan and Russia are developing gradually, including in parliamentarism. Agreements, reached during the meeting of two heads of the states, serve as legal base for cooperation, UzA reported.
Valentina Matvienko underlined that democratic reforms and measures on developing civil society in Uzbekistan are giving their fruits. She said that Russia is interested in further strengthening mutual beneficial bilateral relations with Uzbekistan.
At the negotiations, the sides exchanged opinion on issues of developing cooperation between higher chambers of the legislative bodies of two stations.
