Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  The Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbayeva, met with the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, Natalia Kochanova, during the session of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.

At the beginning of the meeting, Kochanova warmly congratulated Narbayeva on the successful conduct of the parliamentary elections in Uzbekistan and her re-election as Chairperson of the Senate.

The discussion focused on strengthening trade, economic, and cultural-humanitarian ties, as well as inter-parliamentary cooperation between Uzbekistan and Belarus. They also exchanged experiences in the field of lawmaking.

The sides also discussed organizational matters related to upcoming events, including an interregional forum involving representatives of local councils of people's deputies from both countries, the third Uzbek-Belarusian Women's Business Forum, and a joint session of the Youth Parliament. These events are planned to take place during the official visit of the Uzbek delegation to Belarus next year.
