Senators noted that the law was developed in connection with adaptation of the International convention against doping in sport by UNESCO General Conference.
International convention against doping in sport was adopted at the 33rd session of the General conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The document is directed at preventing use of doping in sports and combating doping.
About 135 countries joined the convention. Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Armenia inked the document among the CIS states.
