The seminar, held in Karshi city on 19 June, was part of the series of the seminars planned to be carried out in the whole country (earlier, seminars had been held in Namangan, Tashkent and Termez cities) for lawyers from financial institutions, local businesses and judicial system.

About 30 representatives of business, financial and judicial institutions discussed the issues of training of arbitrators and mediators, improving their professional skills, as well as exposing them to familiarize businesses and lawyers with modern trends in arbitration.

They had also learned about modern trends in arbitration and mediation, activities of the Arbitration Development Center under the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, including procedures of the arbitration courts, selection of arbitrators and other related issues.

The seminar was organized within the joint project of UNDP and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan "Supporting to the development of arbitration courts and other alternative methods of dispute settlement in the Republic of Uzbekistan".
