During the conversation it was noted in particular that the cooperation between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia, built on principles of mutual respect and confidence, has been advancing – along with trade and economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian spheres – in security issues, as well.
The agreement signed between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on cooperation in combating terrorism, organized crime, illegal trade in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances as well as other types of crimes has served to bolster the interaction between our two nations on this front.
At the meeting held at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the sides discussed issues pertinent to further cementing the mutual cooperation in countering terrorism, extremism and crimes related to illegal trade in narcotic drugs.
The parties to talks comprehensively exchanged views on issues concerning the consolidation of security and stability. It was stressed that in Uzbekistan, the institution of mahalla is crucial in preventing crimes and other offenses, and in addressing social issues.
