Sports 03/06/2008 Saudi Coach Unhappy With Lebanon Win
In their previous match, Saudi Arabia crashed to a 3-0 defeat to Uzbekistan. But they managed to overcome the setback by beating Lebanon 4-1 at King Fahad International Stadium on Monday evening.

Although three goals in the second-half helped the Saudis to clinch a vital win, dos Anjos said he was less than pleased with the performance of his charges.

"It was a difficult match for us and I was surprised to see the Lebanese team play in a new style and change their tactics from their last match against Qatar," dos Anjos told PA Sport.

"Lebanon played very well and their players were very lively especially in the first half.

"I admired the Lebanese tactics as their team closed down the defensive line with six players in a very effective way."

The Brazilian also critcised his players for their leaden-feet display against the Lebanese and slammed his defenders for conceding a goal.

He added: "Although we scored four goals I am not satisfied with the performance of my team.

"Of course, we deal with players not machines, and I am concerned with the psychological well being of my squad.

"The unexpected 3-0 defeat against Uzbekistan in our last World Cup qualifier affected my players and against Lebanon, they seemed to be slower and more deliberate in playing the ball.

"The goal that we conceded is similar to the one we let in against Kuwait in our last friendly. I worked on that last week and warned my defenders but they did not learn."

Saudi Arabia will take on Lebanon in the return leg in Riyadh on Saturday.
