Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Samarkand International Airport continues to strengthen its position as one of the fastest-growing aviation hubs. In the prestigious ACI Europe ranking, it secured second place among airports with an annual passenger traffic of 1 to 10 million.

According to the Airports Council International Europe (ACI Europe), the airport recorded an impressive 186% increase in passenger traffic compared to 2019. This remarkable growth highlights the airport's rapid development and the increasing interest of tourists in Samarkand.

In 2024, the airport set a new record by serving over 1.38 million passengers, marking a 37% increase compared to the previous record set in 2023.

The airport's modern terminal is operated by Air Marakanda, which collaborates with 17 airlines. Currently, the airport serves 18 destinations, including 16 international and 2 domestic routes.
