Samarkand International Airport exceeded the historical maximum of monthly passenger traffic in September 2023

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In September 2023, the AIR MARAKANDA, which manages Samarkand International Airport, for the first time in the history of the Samarkand airport served more than 100 thousand passengers in a month, reaching 101,357 people.

The main growth in passenger traffic in the record month was observed on international routes. The most popular flights were from Samarkand to Moscow, Istanbul, St. Petersburg, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The total number of passengers served on these flights is 92,184 passengers (+172.7% compared to September 2022).

On domestic airlines, traffic volumes in September amounted to 9,173 passengers (+125.6% compared to September 2022). Tashkent became the most popular domestic destination.

It is important to note that Samarkand International Airport served 715,132 passengers in the first three quarters of 2023, which is 123.3% or 394,818 passengers more than the same period last year. Such indicators have not previously been recorded in the entire history of the airport. The positive dynamics are associated with an increase in the number of flights of existing carriers and the attraction of new partners.

Since the beginning of 2023, Samarkand International Airport has expanded its route network, and in just 9 months, flights from Samarkand were operated on 7 domestic and 19 international routes. Of these, Tel Aviv, Jeddah, Kuwait, Mineralnye Vody, Ufa and Samara, Medina were opened for the first time.

It is worth noting that AIR MARAKANDA pays special attention to the main strategic areas, namely: compliance with international aviation safety requirements, implementation of measures that contribute to environmental protection, modernization of airport infrastructure, increasing the level of passenger service, etc.
