Salaries in Uzbekistan to increase by 15% starting from 1 September

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree “On increasing the amounts of salaries, pensions, scholarships, and Allowances.”

The decree aims to further enhance the incomes and living standards of the population, as well as to strengthen social support for the country’s citizens.

According to the decree, starting from 1 September 2024, salaries for employees of budgetary institutions and organizations, pensions, scholarships, and allowances will increase by an average of 15%.

The document also establishes new minimum pension amounts: the basic pension calculation amount will be 428,000 soums per month, the minimum old-age pension will be 834,000 soums, and the minimum disability pension will be 920,000 soums.

From October 1, 2024, salaries for medical workers in budgetary organizations, as well as for educators working in preschool, general education, secondary special, vocational, and extracurricular educational institutions, as well as in "Murovvat" homes, "Mehribonlik" orphanages, and children’s sanatoriums, will be increased by 15%. Salaries for other employees in budgetary organizations will also rise by 10%.

The President has set the minimum wage at 1,155,000 soums per month and the basic calculation amount at 375,000 soums.

The expenses related to the salary increases for budgetary organization employees, pensions, and allowances will be covered by the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the off-budget Pension Fund under the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
