RVC and NAPU select seven technology projects to enter the Uzbek market

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- RVC together with the National Agency for Project Management under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (NAPU) held a business session for Russian technology companies that are interested in introducing their developments into the innovative infrastructure of Uzbekistan.

Seven pre-selected technology companies from the RVC ecosystem presented their projects to experts from Uzbekistan: GeosAero, Innogeotech, NVI Solutions, WiseSoil, SPC Protey, Volts Battery and IRWAY. The entrepreneurs proposed the implementation of joint projects in such areas as remote provision of public services, contactless document verification systems, digital cartography and spatial monitoring of agricultural land, organic waste processing, and the use of energy storage devices in households and solar energy stations.

“As part of the business session, we presented a full cycle organic waste processing system based on WiseSoil solutions to improve the efficiency of utilization of this type of raw material in biogas plants. It can be used to utilize the organic fraction of municipal waste in Tashkent, as well as to generate heat and CO2 for greenhouses,” said Alexander Smotritskiy, CEO of WiseSoil, a portfolio company of RVC Seed Fund and a graduate of the GenerationS accelerator. According to him, interest in the use of organic fertilizers in the southern regions is growing. In particular, WiseSoil systems are already in use in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. “The Uzbek market can become the next step in the implementation of such solutions and will help create a cumulative effect that will increase demand for our products in neighboring countries,” said Alexander Smotritskiy.

The Innogeotech, a participant in the Aeronet NTI market, presented to experts from Uzbekistan a system for monitoring the use of agricultural land using satellite imagery data, as well as the Teleagronom service for monitoring and modeling the development of crop diseases. “An impressive number of small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises have been created in Uzbekistan, among which our service will be in demand. It allows to solve the problem of a shortage of highly qualified personnel and improve the efficiency of using cultivated land through modern digital tools. The business session helped to understand the current situation in the country, we had a “picture” of possible demand from both the private sector and government authorities,” said Yuri Kushpel, manager of public sector relations at Innogeotech.

All participants in the business session received detailed recommendations on possible models of cooperation, preparation of pilot projects and attracting a pool of interested customers in Uzbekistan from representatives of the Digital Trust Fund for Support of the Digital Economy of Uzbekistan and the Russian Export Center.

In total, within the framework of the project to expand the presence of Russian technological projects in the RVC market of Uzbekistan, 45 applications from portfolio companies of RVC funds, NTI projects, GenerationS graduate startups, and leading companies in the TechUspeh rating were considered.

“The business session was the first step in the development of cooperation between RVC and NAPU. The next stage will be the consideration of the proposed technologies and projects by the specialized industry departments of Uzbekistan, the development of specific mechanisms for companies to enter a new market. RVC will continue to cooperate with NAPU in the framework of initiatives to promote the development of the export of Russian innovations and in the field of educational programs,” Mikhail Antonov, Deputy General Director - Director for Development of RVC Innovation Infrastructure, said.
