Rustam Azimov: Chinese Eximbank invests over US$5bn into Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Eximbank of China provided over US$5 billion to Uzbekistan, of which US$4 billion were soft loans, First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Finance of Uzbekistan Rustam Azimov said at the SCO Prime Ministers’ Summit in Bishkek on 5 December 2012.
Website Tazabek reported citing Rustam Azimov that China National Oil Corporation (CNOC) is implementing several projects in Uzbekistan, including construction of gas pipeline.
Uzbekistan conducts active cooperation with Russia. At the same time, Uzbekistan interested in investment cooperation with all states, Azimov said.
Uzbek official said that transport-logistic cooperation is important strategic direction of Uzbekistan. The volume of investments to Uzbek road highway made up over US$3 billion, he added.
At the same time, Rustam Azimov said that the SCO should form mechanisms of financing investment projects and create SCO Bank and Special Account.
