Economy 26/04/2007 Russian-Uzbek Business Forum to be held in mid-May

Centre for Political Studies of Uzbekistan led by Gulnara Karimova, Russian Strategic Researches Institute and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia at support of RIA Novosti will hold Russian-Uzbek Business Forum in Tashkent on 14-15 May.

 

The forum will discuss implementation of agreements on strategic partnership and allied relations between Uzbekistan and Russian in economy aspects, perspectives of further their implementation, forms of cooperation within Eurasian Economic Community, cooperation in fuel-energy, textile, machinery, information technologies and perspectives of trade with fruit and vegetable products.

 

For last several years, relations between Uzbekistan and Russia are developing in sustainable dynamics. Over 400 ventures with Russian capital operate in Uzbekistan. The share of Russian in total foreign trade of Uzbekistan makes up 22%.

 

The forum aimed at strengthening and expansion of economic cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan.

 

It is expected that economic potential of Uzbekistan and its perspectives industries, including heavy and light industry, mining, agriculture, oil and gas, energy, transport, telecommunication, tourism and other sectors, will be presented within framework of the forum.

 

The presentation will also cover measures, undertaken by the Uzbek government, to create favourable investment climate and protection of foreign capital, privatization processes and perspective spheres for joint business.

 

It is also planned that the Russian delegation will visit industrial objects, hold bilateral and multilateral negotiations at Uzbek ministries and departments, as well as potential business partners.

 

The forum will be attended by leadership of Uzbek ministries and departments, large and medium business, heads of Russian regions and companies, who wish to establish economic cooperation with Uzbekistan.
