Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Servicemen from Russia’s 201st Military Base, stationed in Tajikistan, have arrived in Uzbekistan to take part in the joint tactical exercises “Khamkorlik-2025,” according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Military and special-purpose convoys covered more than 300 kilometers of mountainous terrain across Tajikistan and Uzbekistan to reach the Termez training ground, where the main stages of the exercises will be held from 15 to 21 July.

During the march, personnel navigated challenging high-altitude routes featuring steep ascents, descents, and narrow mountain passes, using BTR-82A armored personnel carriers, Ural trucks, and specialized KamAZ-based equipment.

The exercises will focus on joint tactics for detecting and neutralizing small illegal armed groups (IAGs) that have infiltrated national territory. Participants will also rehearse operations to liberate settlements and fortified positions held by a simulated enemy, conduct urban combat, and storm heavily defended sites.

The Russian contingent includes mountain and assault units from the 201st Base, mobile electronic warfare teams, UAV crews, and operators of FPV combat drones. An aviation group equipped with Mi-24 helicopters is also participating.

The 201st Military Base, Russia’s largest military installation abroad, is headquartered in the cities of Dushanbe and Bokhtar in Tajikistan. It comprises motorized rifle, tank, artillery, and reconnaissance units, along with air defense forces, nuclear, chemical and biological protection units, and communication divisions.
