Russian Govn’t proposes to Putin to sign military-technical cooperation agreement with Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Russia asked the Russian President Vladimir Putin to sign a military-technical cooperation agreement between Russia and Uzbekistan.

The governmental decree “On submitting to the President of Russia on proposal to sign between Russia and Uzbekistan on developing military-technical cooperation” was published at legal information portal of Russia.

The decree said that the Russian government approves the draft agreement between Russia and Uzbekistan on developing military-technical cooperation.

The document was prepared by the corresponding ministries and departments of Russia and preliminary agreed with the Uzbek side.

The agreement aims at deepening cooperation as well as joining efforts to improve each other’s military hardware and technology and working on both countries’ scientific, technical and industrial capacities related to military, security, law enforcement and special forces applications.

Within the agreement, the sides can supply military equipment and tools each other, provide maintenance services to military equipment, exchange information in military-technical sphere, etc.

Uzbekistan and Russian can create joint ventures and capacities on development, production, repair, modernization and utilization of military products.

The agreement may lead to the creation of joint military-technical programs, the signing of contracts between the two sides’ relevant agencies and holding consultations with the involvement of experts from both Russia and Uzbekistan, according to the decree.

Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS) of Russia and Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan have been made responsible for implementing the agreement.
