The draft law was introduced to the State Duma for consideration, according to the resolution of the Russian Government.

Uzbekistan and Russia signed the agreement on settlement of mutual financial claims and liabilities in December 2014 within the visit of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin to Uzbekistan.

The document envisages that Russia will write off debt of Uzbekistan for US$865 million.
