Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Experts from the Institute of Macroeconomic and Regional Research (IMRI) analyzed the export of fruits and vegetables of the Republic of Uzbekistan for January-September 2023.
During January-September 2023, 1.34 million tons of fruits and vegetables were exported to foreign countries for a total amount of US$831.0 million. The growth rate in value terms compared to the same period in 2022 was 9.3%.
The largest share in the export of fruits and vegetables was occupied by peach (nectarine) - 8.1%, fresh grapes - 7.7%, onions - 6.4%, cherries - 6.4%, raisins - 5.7%, apricots - 4, 9%, melon and watermelon – 4.7%, tomato – 4.2%.
In January-September 2023, the share of fruits and vegetables in total exports amounted to 4.7%.
During this period, the main export markets for fruits and vegetables of Uzbekistan were Russia (41.9%), Pakistan (15.1%), Kazakhstan (12.2%), China (8.4%), Kyrgyzstan (8.0%), Turkey (2.4%), Belarus (1.6%), Afghanistan (1.4%), Iran (1.0%), Iraq (0.9%).
