Economy 14/05/2007 Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan leaders adopted a declaration

Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan agreed to reconstruct existing gas transportation system and create new capacities for gas transportation from Central Asia. This stated in joint declaration of 4 leaders adopted on May 12 in Turkmenbashi city (Turkmenistan), reports the agency withreference to Russian Information Agency "Novosti".

"Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan presidents addressed to the governments to prepare until September 1, 2007, and sign an agreement on 4 countries cooperation on reconstruction of existing gas transportation system and to create new capacities for gas transportation from Central Asia", - stated in the 4 leaders’ declaration.

According to the document, the agreement foresees technical-economic statement, basic characteristics and deadlines for the project execution, joint obligations on auspicious conditions creation for its economic effective realization including exchange gas supplies together with defining representative organizations.

Presidents addressed governments of 4 countries "to provide representative organizations project realization based on developed technical-economic statement starting from the first half a year of 2008".

The declaration was signed for transport capacities development for internal and external natural gas markets including supplies regulated by the agreement between Russia and Turkmenistan in gas sphere signed on 10 April, 2003.
