Russian government and the Eurasian Economic Community signed an agreement on the stay of the EurAsEC Inter-parliamentary Assembly in Moscow, Russian Federation, on Wednesday.

The agreement was signed by Russian First Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Denisov and EurAsEC Secretary-General Grigory Rapota.

Denisov said the EurAsEC member-countries "succeeded in achieving considerable progress on the way to economic integration". The Russian diplomat noted the growing authority of the EurAsEC at the international arena. "Uzbekistan’s accession to the Community and Central Asian republics’ integration into the EurAsEC proves of this," he added.

Denisov also stressed the importance of "expanding relations between the EurAsEC, regional and global interstate associations, including at the inter-parliamentary level".

The signing of the agreement "will facilitate the effective work of the EurAsEC Inter-parliamentary Assembly", the first deputy foreign minister pointed out.

The agreement determines "the rights and obligations of the EurAsEC Inter-parliamentary Assembly, privileges and immunity of staff members, as well as interaction with bodies of power of the Russian Federation", the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.
