New WBA World Heavyweight Champion Ruslan Chagaev arrived in Tashkent, Uzbek capital city, on Thursday, 19 April.

Uzbek boxer was welcomed by Uzbek people, as well as Deputy Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and Tashkent city governor Abdukahhar Tuhtaev.

Ruslan Chagaev said that he hurried to Motherland after victory to meet countrymen and teachers. He added that he achieved his dream and raised flag of Uzbekistan high due to victory.

Chagaev noted that the fight with Russian Nikolai Valuev was difficult and he added that he remembered that Uzbek president and millions of Uzbek people supported him.

Uzbek boxer said he will continue to justify hopes of the Uzbek people and help young generation to acquaint with traditions of Uzbek boxing school, which will serve as his contribution to Uzbekistan’s independence.
