Uzbekistan defending champions hosted Andijan and had difficulties in finding the net. Bunyodkor attached all the game, but the guests were dangerous on counter-attacks. However, both sides failed to convert chances to goals.

On 76th minute of the match, Rivaldo headed cross of Viktor Karpenko past Andijan goalkeeper Bugalo to score the goal. Andijan went forward to equalizer, but Bunyodkor controlled the ball to hold the score and victor.
