Ridesharing service launched in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Long-distance travels will no longer be as complex as before. Students of Inha University in Tashkent with the company Great Gate developed an app for ridesharing. If you have a smartphone, you can download POPUTI.UZ app. The service will allow app users to travel across Uzbekistan, save time and money.

The PoPuti.uz project is the service for ridesharing. Ridesharing is the sharing of vehicles by passengers to reduce vehicle trips, traffic congestion and automobile emissions.

Students of Inha University in Tashkent (IUT), which work at the Innovations and Industry Cooperation Center under IUT, developed a website and mobile apps for Android and iOS platforms.

Sardor Islomov, a second-year students of IUT, said: “We tried to make website and app of PoPuti.uz as comfortable and simple as possible for the users. We would continue to work on further improving the service. I believe that the project will make its contribution to the development of transport-logistic sphere.”

“With the help of the service, people can easily find fellow travelers. The system also has a chat, where the vehicle owner and passengers can discuss the trip details, for example, date and route. The project participants can also rate each other,” Islomov added.
