Revenue of Beeline in Uzbekistan falls by 7% in 1Q 2017
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Revenue of Beeline in Uzbekistan fell by 7% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2017 – to US$153 million, VEON said in its statement.

The revenue in mobile communication segment made up US$152 million in January-March 2017 against US$164 million in the same period of 2016 (-7%). The company said that revenue fell due to devaluation of the Uzbek soum.

The revenue from data transfer in the reporting made up US$40 million, which grew by 10% compared to the same period of 2016.

EBITDA (Operating Income before Depreciation and Amortization) in Uzbekistan made up US$79 million in the first quarter of 2017, which fell by 21% compared to the same period of 2016.

At the same time margin of transactions fell by 9.3 percentage points to 52% in January-March of 2017.

Beeline subscribers’ base in Uzbekistan by the end of the first quarter of 2017 made up 9.5 million people. Number of users of data transfer services makes up 4.6 million subscribers in the first quarter of 2017.

Average bill for a mobile subscriber per month (ARPU) made up US$5.3 in the first quarter of 2017 against US$5.6 in the same period of 2016.

Indicator MOU (minutes of use) reached 537 minutes in the reporting period compared with 548 minutes in the same period of 2016.
