Results of MIT.UZ Open Data Challenge 2016 announced
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Results of the contest on developing apps, services and solutions on visualization of open data “MIT.UZ Open Data Challenge 2016”, which was held in the end of November, was announced.

MIT.UZ Open Data Challenge is the contest for the team of programmers, designers and journalists to develop products based on public open data.

The contest is organized by the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan, UNDP Uzbekistan, "Electronic Government" System Development Center, "Kamolot" Civic Youth Movement of Uzbekistan, BePro Center, Inha University in Tashkent and UZINFOCOM Center.

According to the organizers, over 130 people participated in the hackathon, which was held at Inha University in Tashkent. The participants also attended educational trainings.

AlphaZet tram with the project “MyWay – all for car owners” won in the nomination “The best social project based on open data (apps)”.

DigAge team won in the nomination “The best business project based on open data (app) with the project “License Analytics – tools to analyze and visualization of open data”.

Valkirii team clinched in the third nomination “The best solution on visualization of open data” with the project “Global warming on example of Uzbekistan”.

In individual contest, Nigora Asretdinova won in the nomination “The best social project based on open data (Telegram-bot)” with the project “@Dorilarbot – search for drugstores and medicaments”.

The nomination “The best business project based on open data (Telegram-bot) went to WheelInventing with the project “@TadbirkorBot – guide to entrepreneurs on taxes”.

The jury handed over a special nomination “The best innovative project of hackathon” to IUTech team for the project “TICS – monitoring of environment and generation of open data”.

The awarding ceremony of the winners will take place at Youth Creative Palace in Tashkent on 12 December.
