Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Khiva School of Restoration will be established in Khiva. This is stated in a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, signed on 12 July this year.
According to the resolution, leading experts from abroad will be involved in this school, created with the support of UNESCO.
The activities of the school will be supported by UNESCO, the Intergovernmental Council for the Protection of Monuments and Landmarks (ICOMOS), the International Research Center for the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM), the International Advisory Committee on Cultural Heritage in Uzbekistan, the Agency, including its scientific and expert council , International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage "Silk Road", Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering, National Institute of Painting and Design. Kamoliddin Bekzod, Samarkand Institute of Architecture and Construction, as well as other individuals and legal entities.
The main tasks of the school:
making proposals to the Center for organizing advanced training courses for specialized specialists and attracting local and foreign specialists to these courses;
development of "master-student" traditions and scientific research, as well as preparation of scientific and practical proposals for the introduction of new methods, materials and technologies, best practices of foreign countries;
development of practical skills of students of advanced training courses and assistance in organizing, with their participation, the protection of material objects of cultural heritage;
organization of scientific and practical seminars, conferences and other events with the participation of domestic and foreign experts in the field of conservation, as well as participation in the development of methodological manuals and popularization of best practices.
For reference, in 2021, the “Directorate for the Restoration of Cultural Heritage Objects” was established as a state institution, and gradually the regional centers of the cities of Khiva, Samarkand, Bukhara, Termez, Shakhrisabz and Kokand were created as its state institution.
