Renovated road launched in Uzbek capital

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Tashkent Ring Road, the longest and widest street in the capital, has been upgraded. Only the section passing through the Mirzo-Ulugbek district was narrow and could not accommodate the current traffic volume of 45-50 thousand vehicles per day. Therefore, this road has been expanded and renovated.

The President visited the site and reviewed the new amenities provided for both vehicles and pedestrians.

The road will connect the capital with several districts of Tashkent region. In recent years, the traffic load has significantly increased. To address this, modern transportation solutions have been implemented. Four kilometers of the road have been paved with asphalt concrete. The carriageway has been significantly widened to accommodate 6-8 lanes. Additionally, four underground pedestrian crossings, and pedestrian and bicycle lanes have been constructed.

Advanced solutions have been used to create three U-turns and eighteen merging points, which will facilitate driver convenience and play a crucial role in reducing traffic congestion.

At the intersection of the street with Buyuk Ipak Yuli Street, a bridge made of prefabricated steel structures has been built. This method, used for the first time in our country, offers numerous advantages. For example, its construction time is half that of traditional bridges, and its lifespan exceeds one hundred years. Additionally, maintenance costs for the bridge are much lower.

Along the streets, a night lighting system with electronic control and intelligent traffic lights have been installed. Thirteen bus stops have been built, and the roadside has been landscaped with decorative trees.

The President emphasized that the new roads and structures are a worthy gift for Independence Day and noted that constructive work aimed at improving the quality of life for the people will continue.

It should be noted that over the past period of this year, 12,600 kilometers of roads and about two hundred bridges have been reconstructed across the country.
