Regulation of educational activities established

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The 57th plenary session of the Senate reviewed the Law "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Aimed at Defining the Procedure for Carrying Out Educational Activities."

Uzbekistan is implementing large-scale measures to improve educational efforts among various social groups, particularly targeting youth. However, cases of unhealthy educational practices, where foreign and harmful ideologies influence the minds, culture, and emotions of the population, especially the youth, have been increasing. This highlights the need for legal regulation in this field.

In response, an amendment is being introduced to the Law "On Education" to establish a framework for regulating educational activities.

The Code of Administrative Responsibility has been updated to include penalties for violations of the established requirements for this type of activity. Specifically, engaging in educational work without the proper authorization or failing to comply with legal restrictions will result in fines. Individuals may face fines ranging from five to ten base calculating units, while officials may be fined from ten to fifteen base calculating units.

If the violation is repeated within a year after the initial penalty, the fines increase to between ten and fifteen base units for individuals and between fifteen and twenty base units for officials.

The law defines the procedure, forms, requirements, and conditions for conducting educational activities, as well as outlining those prohibited from engaging in such work. It aims to resolve existing problems and barriers in the field of educational outreach within society.

The law was unanimously approved by the Senate.
