The UzACI said that Tashkent will host Forum ITU 2012 “Overcoming gap in standardization” for CIS states, Regional preparation meeting of the Regional Communication Commonwealth (RCC) to the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA-12) and Regional preparation meeting of the RCC to World Conference on International Telecommunications (WCIT-12).

Representatives of ITU member states, the CIS states, international, regional and national organizations will participate at the event.

Within the forum, the participants discuss ways and tools for strengthening of cooperation and expanding participation of the RCC states in the ITU work on standardization and implementation of standards. It is also expected to consider various resolutions, which are directed at overcoming gap in standardization between developed and developing states.

The RCC WTSA-12 meeting will discuss development of NGN networks and perspectives of corresponding access technologies, mobile application, IP platforms, etc. They will also consider results of WTSA-08 and preparation to WTSA-12.

The RCC WCIT-12 meeting will discuss preparation of the RCC members to WCIT-12 and the position of the region on nominees to key posts of the WCIT-12.
