Tashkent, Uzbekistwan (UzDaily.com) -- The level of consumer prices in Latvia in October 2021 compared to the same period of last year increased by 6%, according to data from the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB), Delfi reports.
The last time such a high annual inflation in the country was recorded in April 2009.
It is noted that the greatest contribution to the rise in prices was made by the rise in prices for heat energy, electricity and natural gas, automobile fuel, and food.
Compared to October 2020, electricity prices for households increased by 18%, natural gas - by 51%, and thermal energy - by 18%. Diesel fuel for the year increased in price by 35.8%, gasoline - by 29.3%, and automobile gas - by 38.9%.
In the category of food products, fresh vegetables (by 14.8%), potatoes (37%), poultry (10.6%), dairy products (10.1%), vegetable oil (26.8 %), rice (10.2%), olive oil (10.2%).
